LEE LEADS RUSTON PAST CAPTAIN SHREVE

Lee collected three hits in three at bats, as Ruston defeated Captain Shreve 5-4 on Monday. Lee doubled in the third inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Ruston didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the sixth when Lee doubled, scoring one run.

The Bearcats took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Lee doubled down the left field line, and Parnell singled down the left field line, each scoring two runs.

Turner singled to center field, which helped Shreve tie the game at four in the top of the fifth.

Hartwell pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Ruston. The reliever surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out one and walking none. Wilkerson led things off on the hill for the Bearcats. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out six and walking five. Adams started on the bump for Shreve. The lefty allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out four and walking three.

The Bearcats tallied nine hits in the game. Moak and Soto each collected multiple hits for Ruston Varsity Bearcats.

Ruston welcomes Hahnville on Thursday for their next game.
